General QUestions

  • Schedule a free 30-minute consultation through our booking page. We'll talk through your project, your audience, and what you're trying to build. If we're a good fit, we'll send a written brief and contract within 48 hours. Once you sign and submit your 50% deposit, your project is on the calendar.

  • We accept all major credit and debit cards. Payments are processed securely through our invoicing platform. Every project includes itemized invoices and receipts suitable for business records.

  • You can cancel a project at any time. Refund eligibility depends on what stage the project is in:

    • Before kickoff (contract signed and deposit paid, but no work has started): your deposit is refundable minus a $150 administrative fee.

    • After kickoff but before first draft delivery: your deposit is non-refundable. The deposit pays for work performed during the composition and production phase, regardless of whether the project is completed.

    • After first draft has been delivered: your deposit is non-refundable. First draft delivery is a milestone, and milestone payments are not refundable once corresponding work has been delivered.

    If we reach the end of your revision rounds and the project still isn't where it needs to be, we'll have a direct conversation about whether the engagement can move forward or whether we end it amicably. These rare circumstances are evaluated case-by-case.

  • Renivere operates remotely. All projects are managed through email, video calls, and shared review platforms. This lets us work with creators wherever they are, and lets you participate from your own studio, home, or office.

Project QUestions

  • Delivery timelines depend on the package:

    • The Signal: 3 weeks from kickoff

    • The Frequency: 4 weeks from kickoff

    • The Spectrum: 6 weeks from kickoff

    Rush delivery (under 2 weeks) is available as an add-on to every package.

  • Kickoff is the date your project officially begins, which happens after three things are complete: signed contract, paid deposit, and submitted creative brief. Until all three are in, we don't start the timeline. Once we do, the delivery date is fixed.

    • Brief & onboarding (week 1) — We review your brief, listen to references, ask clarifying questions, and confirm the creative direction.

    • First draft (varies by package) — We compose, produce, and deliver an initial version of all primary assets.

    • Revision rounds (back half of timeline) — You give feedback, we revise. 2 rounds for The Signal, 3 rounds for The Frequency and Spectrum.

    • Final delivery — Once approved, we deliver final stems and stereo masters along with your license agreement.

    • 30-day check-in — A short follow-up to see how the music is working in your project.

  • Final delivery is final delivery. After that, additional work is billed as add-ons; additional compositions, additional short assets, or full re-engagements. The add-on rate card is published on our pricing page.

  • A revision is a meaningful change to the work; adjusting mood, tempo, instrumentation, mix balance, or structure. Small tweaks (level adjustments, fade lengths, file format requests) don't count against your revision rounds.

    A complete rewrite or change in creative direction counts as starting over, not as a revision, and requires a re-quote.

  • Client-caused delays push the delivery date by the equivalent amount automatically. If your feedback takes two weeks, your final delivery moves two weeks. This is in your contract, not renegotiated in the moment.

    If your project accumulates more than 30 days of client-caused delay, the project pauses. Re-activating a paused project requires a 25% re-engagement fee.

  • Final delivery includes:

    • Stereo masters in 24-bit/48kHz WAV (broadcast standard)

    • Individual stems for each musical element

    • MP3 versions for quick reference and sharing

    • Alternate length versions where applicable

    If you need other formats (16-bit, different sample rates, AAC, AIFF, etc.), let us know during the brief and we'll include them.

Licensing QUestions

  • A license gives you the right to use the music. Ownership means the music is yours outright. Our standard license gives you the right to use your custom music for your project, in perpetuity, for as long as your project exists. You're not renting the music; you're licensed to use it forever. We retain ownership of the underlying composition, which means we can place the same music in unrelated contexts (a film score, a non-competing project in a different market, our own releases). Your use isn't affected.

  • Every Renivere package includes our standard license, which means:

    • You use the music for your project in perpetuity; no expiration, no recurring fees, no future invoices

    • You receive stems and final masters so you can adjust lengths, fades, and edits within your project as needed

    • We retain ownership of the underlying composition and the right to use it in our own commercial releases and sync placements (film, TV, ads, games)

    • We will not license the same composition to a directly competing project

  • We define competing use as work targeting substantially the same audience, subject matter, or aesthetic positioning as yours. A business podcast and a true crime show aren't competing. Two interview shows about Black entertainment culture might be. A wellness brand's promotional content and a fitness app's launch video might be. We assess each potential placement individually and will never license the same composition to a project that meaningfully overlaps with yours.

  • Available as a Full Buyout add-on. Pricing is +100% of your package price. A Signal buyout is +$850, a Frequency buyout is +$1,500, and a Spectrum buyout is +$2,200.

    With a buyout, you own the master, the underlying composition, and all rights to use the work in any context. Renivere retains no future income from the work. Most clients don't need this level of ownership (the standard license gives you everything you need to run your project) but it's available for clients building proprietary IP.

  • Available as an Exclusive License Upgrade. Pricing is +40% of your package price. A Signal upgrade is +$340, a Frequency upgrade is +$600, and a Spectrum upgrade is +$880.

    With exclusivity, we agree not to license the same composition in any other context, including our own sync catalog. We retain underlying composer rights and registered royalties, but the work is sonically yours alone.

  • Renivere registers the composition with our PRO (currently BMI). Any performance royalties generated by your project's distribution flow through that registration. We handle this so you don't have to.

    If you've taken a Full Buyout, you handle PRO registration on your end since you own the work outright.

  • The standard license covers use within your project, including content directly tied to its distribution and promotion. If you want to use the music for other purposes (a separate product launch, unrelated marketing campaign, separate venture), that's a separate licensing conversation and may require an upgrade or additional license. Reach out and we'll work it out.

  • Credit isn't required by the standard license, but it's deeply appreciated. A simple "Music by Renivere Recording" in your show notes, video description, or credits helps us reach new clients and keeps the creative ecosystem visible. If you'd like, we can provide suggested credit copy when we deliver final files.

  • This is one of the situations the standard license is designed to handle gracefully. If a sync opportunity (a film, ad, or other placement) wants to use music from your project, that placement is something Renivere coordinates and benefits from; we own the underlying composition and have the right to license it for sync. We'll always communicate with you about any placement that involves your project's music, and depending on the situation, there may be ways to structure a benefit-sharing arrangement.

    For projects that don't want this dynamic at all, the Exclusive License Upgrade removes Renivere's sync rights to the composition.
